Animals in need looking for a loving forever home
Sometimes an animal is not fit to go back to the streets after our treatment ends. So, we then keep them and try to find them a good forever home. All cats and dogs listed below are currently at our clinic and are looking forward to your visit!
If you are interested in one of our furry friends, please contact us at impact@fourgive.org and we are happy to send you further information, pictures and videos. You can also tell us what kind of personality you are looking for and what your home environment is, so that we can match you up with your perfect companion(s).
Information on the adoption process and costs can be downloaded here or found below.
What does an animal need to enter Europe (EU & CH)?
Health and identification requirements
All cats & dogs going to Europe need to be microchipped and vaccinated against rabies. Animals can get vaccinated when they are at least 12 weeks old.
30 days after the vaccination, a blood sample is taken and sent to a lab in Germany to determine the number of antibodies against rabies ("Titer test"). If the number is sufficient, the animal is allowed the enter Europe 3 months after the blood sample is taken.
Before the flight, the animal needs to be signed off by a government vet in Egypt, confirming that the animal is healthy and all their paperwork is complete. These travel papers are needed for check-in and at the arrival customs and will be done 3-7 days before traveling.
The cost for microchip, rabies vaccination, titer test and travel papers is in total 150 Euro (January 2026).
We additionally recommend vaccinating animals against other infectious diseases as e.g. the Parvo Virus (25 Euro) and neutering/spaying them (20-45 Euro).
For Switzerland, there is an additionally application necessary to the Federal authorities, this needs to be done 3 weeks before traveling. A fee of 40 CHF will be charged at arrival.
Travel information
Some airlines allow animals up to 8kg (i.e. cats and small dogs) to travel in the cabin as hand luggage. They need to be transported in a soft bag that meets the hand luggage size requirements. Larger animals must fly in a special airconditioned freight compartment.
Please check the price of the transportation with your airline as well as the carrier requirements. Usually the transportation costs for cats are ~80 Euro and ~150-250 Euro for dogs. Soft bags and good quality travel boxes are difficult to get in Egypt and very expensive, so please consider bringing them with you from Europe.
For the UK, all animals need to go through a specialised travel agent to London Heathrow at an additional cost.
Caution:
Please check with your airline if they allow animals and what the options and criteria are before booking.
Not all arrival airports accept animals from countries outside the EU (e.g. Duesseldorf), please check with the airport before booking.
